How much do you tip a hair stylist when they own the salon?

No a salon owner shouldn't get tipped. However, is the extra $5-$10 really going to hurt you. If you want the little extras I think you should. How much do you tip a hair stylist when they own the salon?

if you are planning to frequent them again i would tip very well, they can do all sorts of vindictive things if they remember your cheapness, oopps you didn't want a reverse mohawk?!?!
I agree with Firefox! that is what I do.
wutever you think they deserve
If they are the owner then they should not expect any tips (at least I wouldn't as a business owner) but if they do a great job and you keep giving them your business that should be thanks enough. Also tell them you will tell everyone you know about them as word of mouth increased business is more important than an extra 10 or 15 bucks. Make sure anyone who visits tells them you sent them along so the owner knows you recommended them
The amount one tips varys on each situation. It usually depends on how much your total bill is. A rule of thumb is 15 - 20% of the total bill.
