How do you tell if your salon stylist is good?

I want to highlight my very dark hair, and I want to be sure I pick a good stylist. What should I look for in particular? How do you tell if your salon stylist is good?
Just go in one day and just watch them. Look for one who looks like they know what they're doing and where everything is. If they just run into stuff and always ask other people where stuff is they have no clue. Also see how they do someone else's hair. If they do a good job they're good. If they don't they're bad. =]How do you tell if your salon stylist is good?
ask around...the best way to tell if you have a good stylist is word of the mouth...good luck :)
If he is gay he is good. No question. Now please shoot a **** 10 points. Im shootin bad
If every one who you see come out of her shop hair is fine or cute to you then go for her.
if you are happy with your hairdo, then you would call that stylist good.
if the person satisfies your needs.
Make sure that THEIR hair looks good, they're not all drowsy, in a good mood, and that they look proffesional. And, if you're at a good salon you should be fine.
You can duplicate what he/she did the next day!
1) Always, always try to go with a recommendation.

2) Check out their hair and their style. If they don't have a style you like, I wouldn't go with them.

3) Ask if they have pics of hair they've done. Some do.
If the room erupts into stifled giggling when ever you make an entrance: you know your hairdresser deserves to be deported.
Ask if you can sit in a salon for awhile. Watch the customers going out and how they look. I have done that. That works well.

But, every hair salon has a hair coloured expert. Ask specifically for that person.
