How to find the best hair salon and stylist??

My sister is a hair stylist and she usually cuts my hair but I want to try something new. There are so many hair salons out there, how do I know which one is the best one? And how do I find the right hair stylist for my hair? My hair is growing out and I need a new hairstyle to match my face shape, and I want someone who I can trust and know that they're doing. What should I look for in a stylist? And are salon haircare products really worth the price?

Thanks guysHow to find the best hair salon and stylist??
Ask around!

Even if you see a complete stranger with fabulous hair you think you could pull off, ask where she got it done. I do this, and they always thank me and then let me in on the secret. Ask who her individual hairdresser was as well.

Call the hair salon and ask who specializes in short/wavy/thick/thin/blonde whatever hair type you have or are interested in having. This is how I found my stylist! I called and asked who could do short female styles, and they didn't skip a beat on the phone before saying, ';Oh, Zach's the best at that.'; Zach has now been my stylist for eight years. :) Every time I've gone somewhere else I've regretted it!

I try to find salon stuff on sale and went through years of buying and trying. I found very little that was amazing, and I spent a LOT of money. I even spent a lot of money on the non-salon products, but at least now I've finally found a few perfect items. The salon stylist will also demo products on your head, and if you find something that works you can purchase it. I haven't found a more efficient method, although sometimes ebay or the manufacturer will have sample sizes for sale or to give away, and that's an efficient way to try things.

All my female friends and family are in the same boat, spending way too much on hair products that don't work for us. I've found that things that work for one of us don't work for everyone, too! So I give my disappointing products to friends to try or keep, and when they find something amazing, they keep it. When it's lackluster, we pass it on! It's not like makeup, where the applicator is going back into the bottle, and we're all shameless about trying each other's hair products. If it's so wonderful that we both love it, we both buy it.

That's it, chickadee--I'm fresh out of tips! Enjoy your hair hunt, and I hope you look and feel fabulous when you're through! How to find the best hair salon and stylist??
THis is what I do. Find someone with amazing hair. Ask who did it. Go there.
