Should I go to a really high end salon and see a stylist-in-training for cheap or free or should I go to a regular salon and pay around 30 dollars for a normal stylist? I really want a good cut. I don't know what to do! I also need color. Should I go to one for cut and another for color? What do you recommend hellllppp!?!Which should I go to: expensive salon with student stylist or regular salon regular stylist?
I would go to a regular stylist. I recently had to make this decision, too. The high prices, even in these times, makes it difficult to decide. But, I went to a cheaper place for a haircut and was very disappointed. It is finally growing out, but if the cut isn't right it sticks out and won't lay right. My hair was such a mess when the wind would blow the uneven pieces!
I also colored my own hair for the first time ever! It isn't that difficult. I was really nervous, because I'd seen so many with bad hair color and dried out from home jobs. It is so important to use a conditioner when it says to do so! They must skip this process.
Also, I added my own highlights, and found the cap (I'd heard so many bad things about) to be the best way to add and look natural. It does not hurt. It is important to leave on as long as it says to or the highlights don't show.
I am very low maintenance, but always wanted good hair. I like the natural multi highlights look.
But, for a haircut, I'd really go to someone seasoned. It is basic and tough to deal with a bad cut.Which should I go to: expensive salon with student stylist or regular salon regular stylist?
Expensive salon with studen stylist. The better stylists will be watching over them to make sure you get a good cut and color.
Anyone can go to school and get a hairdresser certificate and own a salon. You don't know how good they really are. At an expensive, well-known salon you know they are quality.
Regular Salon with a Regular Stylist.
They'll all have done the same training and all that will matter is their experience.
I've had some of my best haircuts at the cheapest places...and some of my worst that I've paid a fortune for and I've had too many student stylists ruin my hair.
Sure they're supervised but at the end of the day, quality and qualification go hand in hand.
high end salon and see a stylist-in-training for cheap. I've gotten my hair cut at the paul mitchell school several times and i've loved the results. And a teacher is there to watch the students.
